9th Annual Peter Larmand Outdoors Kids Fishing Tournament
Record breaking event

Well, another event is in the books and it was a success to say the least. Not only did the weather finally co-operate with us this year but so did the fish. 47 young anglers registered to fish the tournament which is great to see. There were some new faces and lots or returning anglers from previous years and that is always great to see. We had young anglers from all over, places like Ottawa, Arnprior, Kemptville, Smiths Falls, Carleton Place, Perth, Kanata. It’s nice to see youngsters from all over enjoying and sharing the same passion as I have for fishing and the outdoors. The event is introducing young anglers to fishing and showing them out great things can happen in the outdoors. More tackle boxes and less Xboxes might have to be our motto for this event.
This year a couple of records for the event were broken and that is always fun.
The records broken:
The number of fish caught and released: 1233
Number of anglers with over 100 fish caught: 4 previous record 1
Most fish caught by an individual angler: 144 previous record 120
First ever fish off to break a tie between 2 anglers with 75 fish

Congratulations to all of participates and all of our winners. A great job was done by all the anglers.
This year the event supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County and we are happy to be supporting a great local charity. Beth Sinclair, Manager of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County was in attendance with her young angler as well as they had a table displaying information on what they do for the local community. Peter Larmand Outdoors is pleased to announce that we raised $400 for this great organization.
The day went off without a hitch and that is because of the people that have work countless hours helping put this event together and without their help it would make a lot more work for me. So special thanks goes out to our organizers and volunteers:
• Robin Coyle
• Jessica Larmand
• Madge Coyle
• Sylvia Sherman
• Skip Lafreniere
• Dave Bradley
• Miss Daisy
• Josh Parker
• Kaleb Parker
• Allison Asselstine
• Angel McKee
• Darrell Medaglia
These people helped setup, tear down, help the young anglers on the docks, did the score keeping, cooked, and obtain the great prizes that every participate receives regardless of the amount of fish they caught.
With that being said, we need to thank the sponsors for this event.

I ask that if you are in the market for any of the products and/or services that these companies offer, that you give them the opportunity to earn your business.

If you were at the event and you had a good time, please pass it on to all of your friends. Until next year, tight lines and remember to keep only what you will eat and release the rest for another day. Work hard but fish harder. Lord willing we will see you all next year.

Pete
