Mississippi Lake, August 26/06
Stop number 5 on the Renegade Bass Circuit was the event I was least looking forward to. This is a lake that has never been good to me, although we pre fished it for 3 consecutive days we just couldn't put together a winning pattern. One day we would find the bass deep, the next day they were shallow. We just didn't have a consistant pattern put together for a win but we were confident that we could put together a limit. We figured that it would take about 17 lbs to win and we needed about 13- 15 lbs to qualify for the classic.
We when to our first spot and 9:00 we had 3 fish in the box weighing 7 lbs. We continued fishing various locations around the lake deep, shallow and nothing. We fishing rocks, weedlines, pads, wood, rice, everything and we just couldn't put it together. After a long remainder of the day we went to weigh in our 3 fish and we finished with 7 lbs. Our goal of qualifying for the classic gone. We ended up finishing 45th overall in the Team of the Year Standings. Although we had a tough season, we learned a lot and are really looking forward to next season.
Want to congratulate the 2006 team of the year Doug Dolan and Mak Boisclair as well to Mark Robinson and Chris Lawson winners of the 2006 Classic and the fully rigged Ranger bass boat. Good work fellas.
