Another event is in the books.\u00a0 Although the weather did not cooperate with us this year as it was warm but raining in the morning until about noon.\u00a0 At which time it started breaking and the sun came up as we were handing out the prizes.\u00a0 The fish did cooperate as evident in the amount of fish that was caught this year.\u00a0 The top 3 only from all 4 categories caught an impressive 364 panfish.\u00a0 That is an average of 36.4 fish per angler.\u00a0 Not bad for 3 \u00bd hours of fishing.

Although, the turnout was not what we were hoping for and I am blaming it on the rain in the morning, the 37 anglers that did come out all had smiles on their faces, a belly full of hot dogs, prizes to go home with and like all anglers stories to tell.\u00a0 All in all we raised $500 for the Children\u2019s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.\u00a0 Thank you to the parents for bringing your families out and making the most of the event.\u00a0 Pictures are posted on http:\/\/www.peterlarmand.com\/outdoors\/gallery\/2013-kids-charity-tournament<\/a> The winners of each age group are as follows: Age 5 and Under<\/b> Age 6 to 8<\/b> Age 9-12<\/b> Age 13 and Up<\/b> The winner for the most fish caught, receiving a trophy for his efforts, Kaleb with 87 panfish.\u00a0 Great job Kaleb!!<\/p>\n All of this would not be possible without the support of the community and the volunteers. This is what it is all about. It\u2019s about bringing awareness and support to a local children\u2019s hospital but it also to bring awareness to the children that outdoors is a whole other playground that is not computer generated and if taken care of will be here for all of us to play on for many years to come.<\/p>\n Lord willing we will each and every one of you out next year.
