{"id":1762,"date":"2018-10-04T14:33:58","date_gmt":"2018-10-04T18:33:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.peterlarmand.com\/outdoors\/?page_id=1762"},"modified":"2019-05-17T10:08:43","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T14:08:43","slug":"2019-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.peterlarmand.com\/outdoors\/kids-tournament\/2019-2","title":{"rendered":"2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>75 kids had a JumpStart of a day<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>13<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Peter Larmand Outdoors Kids Fishing Tournament benefitting JumpStart is a wrap for another year.\u00a0 75 young anglers ranging from 3 to 17 years of age participated this past Saturday May 11<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019 down at Lower Reach Park in Smiths Falls, ON.\u00a0 The weather was sunny but cool but from what I could see there was a lot of smiling face, some of which were even painted.<\/p>\n<p>Each year we try to bring new activities for the young anglers to do along with fishing.\u00a0 Returning this year was Nicola Thomson putting her artistic talents to work doing face painting for the kids, even parents were getting involved as well.\u00a0 This year she was accompanied by Heather Currie-Whiting, getting more kids\u2019 and some adults faces painted.<\/p>\n<p>Again this year we had the delicious desserts of BK Waffles.\u00a0 Keep an eye out for these people at an event near you.<\/p>\n<p>This we expanded our lure education for the young anglers with Jeremy Parker showing the kids how to tie flies and Shane Brisson from Bass ON Lures talking about how crankbait and soft plastic baits are made.<\/p>\n<p>We were even fortunate to have the Regional Manager Cam from Jump Start and Ann from Mark\u2019s on hand to help as well as raffle off Jump Start kids shoes.<\/p>\n<p>This event is longer than just the 10am-1:00pm that everyone sees.\u00a0 There is a lot that goes on before and after the young anglers arrive and leave.\u00a0 There is setup, tear down and then there is the volunteers that help out during the event like registration, scoring, cooks, greeters.\u00a0 This would not be possible without the best volunteers and they are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maria-Elena<\/li>\n<li>Andre<\/li>\n<li>Katrine<\/li>\n<li>Andrew<\/li>\n<li>Laurie<\/li>\n<li>Heather<\/li>\n<li>Brenda<\/li>\n<li>Hugh<\/li>\n<li>Kevin<\/li>\n<li>John<\/li>\n<li>Nick<\/li>\n<li>John<\/li>\n<li>Robert<\/li>\n<li>Louis<\/li>\n<li>Victoria<\/li>\n<li>Tanya<\/li>\n<li>William<\/li>\n<li>Natasha<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you for all of your hard work and support as this would not be possible with your help.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, I want to thank the person that stands beside me in everything that I do.\u00a0 She keeps me in line when I get sidetracked.
