11th Annual Peter Larmand Outdoors Kids Charity Fishing Tournament Wrap Up<\/strong><\/p>\n

There were many changes to our event this year; we changed charity from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County to Jump Start. The biggest of course was the change of venue from Rideau Ferry Harbour Marina to Lower Reach Park in Smiths Falls. The reason for the change to try and attract more local people to the event which I believe we succeeded in doing.<\/p>\n

Like all outdoor events the weather plays a big role in the outcome as far as participates is concerned. On this day the weather was not in our favour. It rained off and on most of the day but that didn\u2019t not deter the 79 participants that we had attend the event. Thank you to the parents that stuck it out as they watched their young angler catch and release fish in hopes to win big prizes.<\/p>\n

We are happy to announce that we have raised $600 for Smiths Falls Jump Start. Speaking with Joe Cayan from the Smiths Falls Canadian Tire after the event, he is very happy with the event and so is the town of Smiths Falls. We will be starting to plan for next year\u2019s event soon in hopes of making it bigger and better.<\/p>\n

I want to give a big shout out to Dave who looked after everything during the event so that I could spend time with the kids. It is a very busy day and I hope I got to everyone that was there. If I didn\u2019t I apologize. I also need to send a special thank you to my family, in particular Robin. The weeks leading up to the event are always chaotic in our house and she always supports me as we do this and without her and the above mentioned people this event would not be possible.
